Nothing to shrug about

So it looks like Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged" may become a movie (finally)!

Obviously, I can't wait. But who knew that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are Ayn Rand fans?

I'll be at the opening of this movie. Guaranteed.

I'm excited! Apparently Brad Pitt also showed interest in playing Howard Roark for another worthy movie project that ultimately fizzled out.

Obviously, this is great news. Funny enough, when I was re-reading the book recently, I pictured Pitt as John Galt. I can't believe he's actually playing the role - spooky. Jolie, as hot as she is, sickens me. It's a shame she's in this one. I always pictured Sandra Bullock in the role. I hope Jolie doesn't ruin the flick. They should get Clint Eastwood in there as the economics professor, and Matthew Broderick as the government science chief.

They might have to cut more than a few pages from the book to write the script. Otherwise it will be a 3-day movie. But however they treat it, it will be a real coup to get this out into the public imagination.
